Welcome to our Meet The Author interview and what better place to start than with our founding author Angiewalkerblue.

SJ – “Welcome.  Colourful, controversial, creative, are there any other words to describe  you?”

AWB – “I am sure a few others could give you  some!”

SJ – (Laughing) “Yes I am sure. So, tell me where did the  name come from?”

AWB – “It’s a long story which I have documented  elsewhere but basically I plucked it out of thin air as a pseudonym for the
author of my stories.”

SJ – “Lots of people do have have  pseudonyms of course.”

AWB – “Yes I know. It is sad in a way  though people feeling afraid to use their real names because they write erotica.  I saw a newspaper article a few weeks back and the woman they described as ‘into  pornography’ was just a writer of erotic stories. I was quite angry because she,  like the rest of us, was just putting into words what other people fantasised or thought about. It is unfair and I get quite angry about self righteous  hypocrites who put labels like that on people.”

SJ – “You have  quite a passion about writing and a passion for writers don’t  you?”

AWB – “Yes I do. I can remember what it was like to have  that burning desire within to write and get published and I want to see this  site become a breeding ground for authors to get their feet on that ladder, so  to speak.”

SJ – “When did you begin writing and how did you get  into having them published?”

AWB – “I had been writing for years  and back in 2006 I came across this website called ‘Lusty Library’ that had some  amazing writers and stories. They also seemed, at the time, to be encouraging  writers. They certainly encouraged me. What I enjoyed most was that people took  the time to comment and encourage you. That is very important for an  author.”

SJ – “So how did you get into websites  then?”

AWB – “It’s a long story but to keep it as short as  possible, the site we just mentioned stopped publishing stories in 2009. They had a lot of technical issues and it seemed that the owners were not interested  in financing the upgrade so I approached them with an offer to buy the site They were not interested in selling either (and that wasn’t just  to myself either, at least 3 others that I know of approached them as well)  Anyway, at around that time I happened to become very friendly with a ‘Lass’  from Lancashire and she not only had started to build a story website but had  ambitions on building a website to encompass erotica as a whole. We seemed to  hit it off well; she had the technical know-how and I had the business brain and  creative talent. We built up our website Just-Kinky and started to flesh out the  ideas of Just-Erotica.”

SJ – “So what went wrong  then?”

AWB – “Again, a long story. Basically, she’s an easily lead  person and took on board the wrong people who had ambitions outside the website.  Yes, they put work into the site but they had other agenda’s as well. There were  also people involved who were always arguing and just couldn’t get on. There are  some people around you know who could start a fight in an empty house! We had people like that there”

SJ – Giggles.”So you left  then?”

AWB – ” Certainly not. I logged on one day to find myself  taken off the ‘Owner’s’ list and my admin powers removed.”

SJ -  “WOW. Why?”

AWB – “I never really got to the bottom of it. As  I said, she is easily influenced and doesn’t really have a mind of her own.  Other’s wanted rid of me because they saw me as a threat to their  agenda.”

SJ – “It must have hurt?”

AWB – “It  did.”

SJ – “And is that why you started out on your own  then?”

AWB – “It gave me the shove I needed, put it that  way.”

SJ – It must have been difficult,  technically.”

AWB – “The technical side was and is hard but it is  also fun, it was the hassle from others that made life hard.”

SJ -  “Care to elaborate?”

AWB – “Okay, some may have had a bit of a grievance because of things I  had done, I cannot deny that. But a lot of people got a lot ‘holier than thou’  about everything and then there are those people who just enjoying fighting  anyway. People jumped on the bandwagon.”

SJ – “You survived it all  though!”

AWB – “That’s for sure. Had I been left alone I might  well have found something better to do with my time, but that, combined with the  fact that I had been kicked out of my own business made me more than determined  than ever.”

SJ – You have done well though, and that’s not just me  saying that. I talk to a lot of people in our circles and they have  secret admiration for what you have achieved. Some also admire your balls expecially  with you choice of site names.”

AWB – “Well, some will say that I  have been guilty of plagiarism but I can assure you that all names and all that  has been created were my ideas and designs in the first place. I have just taken  back control of them.”

SJ – “Like Just Kinky for  example.”

AWB – “Precisely. The site fell apart after I left  anyway. The in-fighting got so bad that people left in their droves and all that was left in the end were a bag of ferrets, fighting and squabbling amongst  themselves. She gave up the ownership within a few weeks and went off to  concentrate on the site that we had talked about doing.”

SJ -  “Some were sad that she left?”

AWB – “I know, but it was  inevitable. I think when they had the second anniversary party weekend and only  4 members turned up in chat that was it for her. I heard she got very upset  about that.”

SJ – “They are rebuilding on their new site  though!”

AWB – “I know and I truly wish them well but a lot of the  old team are still involved and I can see history repeating itself. To run a  successful website you have to be a good manager and have a good business brain.  The ethos of a website might well be entertainment and leisure but you still  have to be hard headed in the way you run it There are people there who couldn’t  run a bath!”

SJ – “Ruthless you mean?”

AWB – “Yes! Apart from all the actually day to day work involved, you are  going to have membership issues to deal with; management issues and then you  also have the oppostion to deal with. I don’t just mean other site owners  either, I mean those from the jealousy brigade; those that can’t do it for  themselves and hate to see others being successful.”

SJ – “A  lesson for anyone else thinking of doing it?”

AWB – “That’s for  sure!.”

SJ – “So you would advise others not to do it  then?”

AWB – “No, not at all! If you have the ambition to do it  then go for it. But just be prepared for the hardwork and the hassle and be sure  that you can handle it. My personal advice would be to have a go at blogging  first. Build a blog and develop it; then turn it into a website and take it from  there.”

SJ – “So, where to next? I ask that because those of us  who help run the site can’t keep up with you sometimes…..LOL.”

AWB -  (Laughs) “Erotica evolves! “Seriously, I have a lot of ideas about where I  want to go. Some web owners are happy just to keep things simple, and that’s  fine if they want it that way. But I don’t intend standing still.”

SJ  – “It sounds exciting but also daunting.”

AWB – “It will be  hard work, I know, and no doubt more hassles but I don’t care. Love me or hate  me I am who I am and I will continue to be successful.”

SJ – “And when do we get to see some more stories from the pen of AWB then?”

AWB  – (Laughs) “I need more hours in the day!”

SJ -“Don’t we all!.  Thank you very much for your time.”

AWB - “No, thank you. It has been an honour and a pleasure.”
